Paul J. Green - Victoria, BC Artist. This Fantastic design was reproduced froma small bentwood box found in 1850. Paul's interpretation was this 6"11" high by 6'2" wide by 3/8" thick panel. The original design has ben attributed to the Tlingit, an indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast. The Tlingit were hunter-gatherers inthe temperate rainforest of the southeast Alask coast, to the far northwestern part of British Columbia and teh southern Yukon Territory of Canada.
All design elements are solid wood - Black Walnut, Yellow Cedar and Red Padauk.
No paint or stain has been used to embellish the woods; all colors are the true representation of the natural wood tones.
This panel can be viewed from both sides, making it ideal to be placed in a window or hung as a room divider. Of course it is also a fantastic piece for any wall. If there is a desire to have the doors used in a practical application this solid wood screen is split down the centre an with some minor modifications can be made into interior doors (sliding or swinging)
The panels have been finished in eight coats of interior professional grade Varathane. It is for sale and enquiries can be made through Black Rock Oceanfront Resort Guest Services.
